Anna Strunsky Walling (1879- ) was born in Babinotz, Russia, and immigrated to the United States in 1893. She took classes through the University of California system and earned an A.B. degree from Stanford University in 1900. In 1906 she married William English Walling (1877-1936), the author and reformer, and spent the next two years studying in Russia.
